Dowlis 2010 Show!

On Wednesday 3rd March, Dowlis – pioneers of hosting customer exhibitions since 2001 – held their 2010 event at The Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton. Dowlis sponsor Wolves Community Trust, supplying the Centre of Excellence kits to the ladies and girls teams, so it was a natural choice as the venue for the Show because of its central UK location. Customers came from all over the UK from Edinburgh to Torquay, Manchester to London.
50 of the industry’s leading suppliers supported the event and exhibited thousands of exciting, new products, giving our important customers the opportunity to browse for ideas in a relaxed environment.
We are delighted that we have orders totalling over £100,000 already that are about to be closed as a result of customers visiting the show, with many more enquiries to be quoted for and won over the coming weeks.
Of the many comments we received yesterday, one of our VIP customers said, “Dawn, Many thanks to you and the Dowlis team for a very good exhibition yesterday. It was a very useful and thought provoking day for both of us. We have taken the action to discuss our findings with the Brand Units at the next monthly meeting we have with them and encourage new, innovative thinking.“
In addition to the serious business of selecting promotional merchandise, there were many activities taking place during the day. There were hourly prize draws to win an iPod Touch; and a prize draw at the end of the day to win a Samsung 42” TV. The lucky recipients were from Amtico International, Amey Group, Xerox UK Ltd, Wolves, MIRRC. There was a penalty shoot out competition on the pitch to win signed Wolves footballs and shirts, and tickets to one of the forthcoming football matches. Tours of the stadium were organised throughout the day, together with a photo session with the Championship Trophy. And not forgetting, of course, a visit from Wolfie & Wendy the club mascots!
As a result of the show, Dowlis were able to donate £2,500 to Wolves Community Trust to assist them in their valuable work with charities and local community groups.
Viv Blumfield, Managing Director, of Dowlis commented, “All in all, it was a great day. In addition to escorting our clients around the exhibition to look for new ideas, they could take advantage of the VIP lounges to sit in comfort and discuss the products they had seen and how they could be used for events later in the year.

Dowlis achieves ISO9001:2008 accreditation!

Dowlis received notification from BSI on 1st February 2010 that it achieved ISO9001:2008 accreditation which completes its integrated management system.

Dowlis achieves ISO 14001:2004 accreditation!

Dowlis has had a successful start to the year by achieving the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System accreditation and to have been recommended for the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System. The company has been working on an integrated management system during 2009 and was delighted to complete all the assessments with BSI at both its Byfleet and Manchester locations on Monday 4th January 2010. For years Dowlis has operated to its own quality and environmental standards, but achieving an internationally recognised standard provides assurance about its ability to satisfy quality requirements and to enhance customer satisfaction.

Dowlis wins BPMA Employer of the Year 2008!

The BPMA held its Annual Awards dinner at the Trade Only National Show, which took place for the second year running at The Ricoh Arena in Coventry. The event was a sell-out with 500 guests, who were entertained by host and TV personality Roy Walker.
Dowlis were delighted to receive the coveted BPMA Employer of the Year Award 2008, which was accepted by Dowlis' Managing Director, Viv Blumfield, who commented; "Our people are the most valuable asset we have and we strive to ensure their well being as a way of rewarding their loyalty and commitment to Dowlis. I am delighted to receive this award as it proves that after 35 years trading, Dowlis Corporate Solutions ticks all the boxes and not only offers their customers the best solution, but their employees too."
